Expression of Truth and Beauty

Project 1 contains the principles of form and function with the use of existing bridges. The discussion of this concept is if the main beauty of a building's form should truthfully express its function or to have the independency of its own work. This project will analyze this relationship through the designs of different bridges around the world creating a functional mechanism.

Movement Analogy

THE MOVEMENT OF THESE OBJECTS IS INTENDED TO ACT AS THE MEANS FOR OPENING THE ROADBED FOR BOATS OR OTHER WATER TRAFFIC TO PASS. THEY MUST BE INCORPORATED INTO THE PROTOTYPE DESIGNS TO PROVIDE A 30'X40' GAP IN THE SPAN OF THE BRIDGE.
